Tropical Storm Debby: Malaysians in affected areas urged to stay vigilant


KUALA LUMPUR: The Foreign Ministry, through the Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles, United States, has closely monitored the movements of Tropical Storm Debby.

According to a statement on Monday (Aug 5), the Category-1 storm is expected to hit Big Bend, Florida around noon on Monday (Aug 5).

The storm is then predicted to continue moving eastward towards the coastal areas of Georgia and South Carolina.

"We urge Malaysians in the affected areas to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local authorities.

"The Foreign Ministry will continue to monitor developments closely throughout the hurricane season and provide necessary updates," the statement added.
