A timeless tribute to enduring relations

KUALA LUMPUR: To commemorate Malaysia and China’s 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Star Media Group and Sin Chew Daily have come together to produce and launch a coffee table book.

Titled Blossoming and Fruiting: 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Malaysia and China, the book features some 200 photographs that chronicle the enduring friendship and growing synergy between the two nations in various fields, from politics and economics to sports and culture.

The elegantly bound hardcover book documents the milestones and iconic moments across four segments following the different phases of the two nations’ historical interactions: the Sowing Period (1974-1989), the Budding Period (1990-2004), the Flowering Period (2005-2012) and the Fruiting Period (2013 to the present).It is also a celebration of the media’s role in fostering ties through impactful editorial content and photographs.

It aims to provide readers with insightful narratives that can spark conversations, become a valuable resource for researchers and serve as a lasting keepsake.

The book’s partnership involves Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman as the education partner, AirAsia as the official partner, and IJM Corporation Bhd, Midea Scott & English Electronics Sdn Bhd, QL Resources Bhd as well as Tan Hong Aik as sponsors.

“The 50th anniversary of Malaysia and China’s diplomatic relations is important to us, AirAsia, which plays the role as a key player in Asia’s aviation market.
