Lorry overturns in Bukit Damansara, driver killed

KUALA LUMPUR: The 67-year-old driver of a cement lorry was killed after the vehicle was accidentally smashed against a house's outer wall at Jalan Batai Barat in Bukit Damansara.

Operation commander Rosdi Yussof said that the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received a call on the incident at about 3.25pm on Wednesday (Aug 7) and added that firemen from the Sri Hartamas fire station were dispatched to the scene.

"The impact of the crash caused the lorry to overturn, trapping the driver. We managed to get the victim out but he died at the scene," he said in a statement.

The body has since been handed over to the police for further action.
