Ministry has zero tolerance for sexual misconduct

MARANG: The Education Ministry remains unwavering in its stance on disciplinary action for sexual offences within the school community.

Minister Fadhlina Sidek (pic) said that since the Madani government took over the country’s administration, the ministry has been resolute in addressing this issue by issuing and reinforcing the Sexual Misconduct Management Guidelines.

“If we find that (sexual misconduct) occurring among Education Ministry members, we stick by our disciplinary statement, which is ‘You touch, you go!’,” she told reporters after inaugurating the new building of the Marang district education office here yesterday, as reported by Bernama.

She also urged families to continue reporting such incidents and stressed the importance of community advocacy to prevent such behaviour.

Fadhlina said this when commenting on the allegation that a female student in Besut was raped and sexually assaulted by three of her male school friends in February.
