KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) announced that Sabah and Sarawak, as One Borneo, as Malaysia’s favourite destinations for the MATTA Fair from Sept 6 to 8 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) here.
This recognition is part of MATTA’s ongoing commitment to promoting the diverse, attractive and exciting tourism offerings of the two states specifically and Malaysia in general.
The MATTA Fair, renowned as the largest consumers’ travel fair in Malaysia, will serve as an excellent platform for Sabah and Sarawak to showcase, promote and market their unique tourism attractions.
Visitors to the fair can look forward to exclusive travel deals, captivating nature and cultural attractions and interactive activities that highlight the very best of Borneo.
MATTA president Nigel Wong said, “In partnership with the states of Sabah and Sarawak, MATTA is dedicated to showcasing the unparalleled beauty and cultural heritage of Borneo.
“This initiative aims to elevate Sabah and Sarawak as premier travel destinations, drawing both local and international tourists to experience their unique offerings.

Sabah and Sarawak, known for their breathtaking nature and landscapes, rich biodiversity and vibrant cultural heritage, will be the highlight of the MATTA Fair September 2024.
The fair will provide a unique opportunity for travellers and holiday-seekers to discover the hidden gems of these regions and take advantage of special travel deals and packages.
It is expected to draw thousands of visitors, offering them a chance to explore the best that Borneo has to offer.
Sabah Tourism Board chief executive officer Julinus Jeffery Jimit said, "Apart from highlighting our local products like Tenom coffee and Sabah tea, our Kopitiam-themed zone is for visitors to experience our Culture, Adventure and Nature (CAN) in an integrated experience from Mountain High to Ocean Deep, where visitors can experience everything from the majestic peaks of Mount Kinabalu to the vibrant marine life.

The MATTA Fair offers free admission and is open from 10am to 9pm for the three days.
MATTA offers free shuttle services between KL Sentral, Sunway Putra Mall, and Mitec.
Visitors are encouraged to use these free shuttle services to the MATTA Fair venue.
Additionally, there will be attractive prizes to be won when you use the shuttle service, making your journey to the fair even more rewarding.
