Chow denies claims he won't run in DAP polls, declines further comment

GEORGE TOWN: Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow says he will only decide on contesting in the state party elections once the nomination process is complete.

Chow, who is also Chief Minister and the party's national vice chairman, dismissed claims that he would not be contesting.

"The nomination process is still ongoing. I won't comment on anything before it ends," he said when contacted on Friday (Aug 16).

He added that once the process is completed on Monday (Aug 19), those nominated will be notified and given the opportunity to accept or decline.

Several Chinese language portals had reported that Chow would not be defending his party posts.

Chow served as the party’s vice chairman since 2004 and served as state chairman since 1999.
