KUALA LUMPUR: Star Media Group Bhd is among the official media partners for the upcoming Malaysia-China Summit (MCS) 2024, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) has announced.

Other media partners are Sin Chew Daily and Bernama.

Matrade board member Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah said Star Media Group and Sin Chew Daily are Malaysia’s most distinguished and influential media houses.

“Our media partners will generate extensive coverage for the summit, which will also provide opportunities for participants to gain visibility through the media exposure.

“I firmly believe that this comprehensive media engagement will drive mutual growth and strengthen economic relations with China and Asean partners,” he said during his speech at the announcement of MCS 2024 official media partners here yesterday.

Mohammad Medan also announced a strategic partnership with the Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the MCS.

“I am confident that the dynamic presence of Malaysian mid-tier companies and large corporations under these bodies will ensure the success of the upcoming summit in fostering robust economic ties not only between Malaysia and China, but also within the broader Asean region,” he added.

The MCS will be held from Dec 17-19 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

With the theme “Prosperity Beyond 50”, the summit comprises an International Trade and Exhibition Exposition, and a two-day Leadership Conference from Dec 17-18.

It is expected to attract more than 500 exhibitors and 10,000 trade visitors, aiming to generate RM2bil in trade and investment leads.

The summit is organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Matrade.

Qube Integrated Malaysia executive chairman Richard Teo said the summit is a crucial platform for enhancing bilateral relations, economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Malaysia and China.
