Prime minister to announce new business efficiency framework

JOHOR BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will announce a framework on the efficiency of government services to ease business operations in the country, says Rafizi Ramli.

The Economic Minister said the framework, expected to be launched in October, is part of the government's strategy to maintain and improve Malaysia's economic growth.

"The Ministry is in the process of presenting a new framework on the efficiency of government services in easing business operations," said Rafizi.

"I will give a more detailed announcement soon, but the Prime Minister has agreed to launch the new framework officially on Oct 4.

"We have been working on this framework for about a year, and it is now in its final stages," he said after attending the 'Ask Minister Anything' event in conjunction with the Madani Rakyat program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) here.

Rafizi added that the country is heading in the right direction with a gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 5.9% in the three months to June 2024, higher than initially predicted.

"This shows that investors have confidence in the country's potential. We need to maintain this momentum, which is a challenge we must overcome.

"We need to ensure everything within our system facilitates and allows optimism and interest in our economy to be translated on the ground as soon as possible," he said.
