A STUDENT in India was brutally stabbed by a politician for complaining about the road conditions in his town, Malaysia Nanban reported.

V. Santosh Kumar, 18, a 12th Grade student in Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu, was returning from school on a motorbike when he hit a large pothole and crashed.

He began cursing the ruling DMK party and those in power for not doing their job maintaining the roads.

A local DMK party leader named Abi, 28, who runs a meat shop nearby, heard the boy’s rants and confronted him for badmouthing his fellow party member.

This escalated into an argument. Abi suddenly pulled a knife and stabbed Santosh, who ran screaming into a nearby barbershop.

Abi followed him into the shop, grabbed a straight razor and began slashing the student while several men who came with him began attacking the boy as well.

Another man identified as Pushparaj, who tried to help Santosh, was also brutally attacked.

Police who eventually arrived at the scene rescued Santosh and sent him to a hospital where he is being treated.

Police have reportedly detained two men over the incident which has shocked the town.
