Kajang cops seek man who stabbed friend in dispute over motorcycle

KAJANG: A misunderstanding over a motorcycle led to a man stabbing his friend at an apartment in Semenyih.

Police said the victim was injured in the lower back and left shoulder.

According to Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof, they were notified of the incident at 2.51pm on Saturday (Aug 17).

"During a meeting at the home of the victim's sister, the suspect took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the victim, who had scolded him," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 18).

ACP Naazron said the dispute arose after the suspect, in his 30s, failed to return the 23-year-old victim's motorcycle that he borrowed last month.

"The victim was sent to Hospital Kajang for treatment.

"He is conscious and stable but still receiving treatment.

"We are tracking down the suspect," he said.

He advised the public to always remain calm in the face of problems or misunderstandings and to refrain from any action that is against the law.

"We urge those with information on the incident to contact investigating officer Insp Mohamad Faeez Norzah at 013-2773407 or the nearest police station to assist with the investigation," he added.
