Patient claims valuables went missing at JB hospital

JOHOR BARU: A woman claims that some of her valuables, including a gold necklace, went missing while receiving treatment at a public hospital here.

P. Saroja, 63, said she was sent to the hospital's emergency department in an ambulance for high blood pressure around 3.30pm on July 25.

She said she was asked to remove all items on her body before receiving treatment.

She then claimed that her necklace and purse containing RM200 went missing.

Seroja lodged a police report on Aug 1.

She also claimed that hospital staff told her that they did not see the items that allegedly went missing.

However, she did not mention where she had placed those items.

On Aug 17, a TikTok user posted a clip, saying he was sad about the loss of the necklace, which Seroja received from her husband.

He claimed that police informed him that the closed-circuit television (CCTV) at the hospital was not functioning.

In a statement on Sunday (Aug 18), the hospital concerned said full cooperation would be given to the police.

"No CCTVs are installed at the hospital's emergency and trauma department for the privacy of our patients," the hospital said.
