Kluang MCA division ready to help Barisan defend Mahkota seat, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The Kluang MCA division is all geared up to assist Barisan Nasional in defending the Mahkota state seat, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

According to the MCA president, he had met with the Kluang MCA division members and branch chairman, where they discussed party affairs and the planning of campaigning activities for the Mahkota by-election.

“In our meeting that lasted one-and-a-half-hours, the Kluang MCA division reported that it has set up a by-election committee and working groups.

“It will also set up stations at the voting district centres to help the Barisan election machinery in its campaigning activities,” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Monday (Aug 19).

Dr Wee also said that the MCA central leadership and its Johor state liaison committee will provide support to the Kluang party division.

“I also urged all our members to echo the message of the Johor Barisan chairman and Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi to focus our efforts to ensure a victory for Barisan in defending the Mahkota state seat,” added Dr Wee.

The Mahkota state seat was declared vacant after the death of assemblyman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain on Aug 2.

The Election Commission has set Nomination Day on Sept 13 and polling day on Sept 28.
