Rozaid laid to rest at Putrajaya's Precinct 20 cemetery


PUTRAJAYA: The remains of Rozaid Abdul Rahman, the media and strategic communications director for the Prime Minister's Office, have been laid to rest at the Precinct 20 Islamic cemetery in Putrajaya at 10:50am.

Earlier, the late Rozaid was taken to Putra Heights Mosque, Selangor, for the bathing and funeral prayer rituals before arriving at the cemetery at 10:30am on Monday (Aug 19).

Among the family members and acquaintances present were Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and former health minister, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.

Rozaid was previously with The Star, with his last position as group consulting editor.

Rozaid also served as Press Secretary to Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin when the latter was Higher Education Minister.

He later joined Sinar Harian on Jan 4, 2021 as group editor before ending his service with the publication on Dec 30, 2022.

He started his career in the media as a cadet reporter for Utusan Malaysia in April 1984.

The funeral prayer for Rozaid was held at Putra Heights Mosque, Subang Jaya.

Previously, it was reported that he had health issues and had received treatment at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang.
