SJK (T) Ladang Tun Dr Ismail in Johor has received an additional 0.8ha of land from a plantation company, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The school in Simpang Renggam previously received 1.20ha of land from the company, said Simpang Renggam MIC chief A. Allimuthu.

A new classroom building and other rooms were completed four years ago.

Following this, the school board led by Datuk N. Nilaraja worked to get additional land which was later agreed upon by the plantation company.

The school has put in a request to the state government to bear the cost associated with the transfer of the land before it can be used for a hall and sports field.

The state government paid the fees for the previous 1.20ha of land and the school board is confident it will do so for the new land.

Kluang district land officers visited the allocated plot on Saturday to confirm the boundaries and determine its value.

Nilaraja and Puteri MIC chief Teeba Solaimalai, school principal G. Ganesan and local community leaders were present during the visit.
