Elderly man found safe after going missing in Tuaran


KOTA KINABALU: An elderly man who had gone missing after visiting his farm in Kg Sinulihan, Tuaran, has been found safe a day later.

80-year-old Akun Kalawot was found safe but tired in his ginger farm.

Officials from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department reported that the man was first reported missing after midnight on Wednesday (Aug 21).

Villagers tried searching for the man the day before, on Tuesday (Aug 20), after his family noticed his absence.

“Police officials who were part of the search and rescue team found the man at around 3.10pm, Wednesday,” firemen said.

Firemen later went to the site where the elderly man was found and assisted in carrying him out.

He was given first aid before he was sent home to his family.
