KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price for diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be reduced by 2sen per litre to RM3.23 per litre, while for RON97 and RON95 petrol, prices remain unchanged at RM3.47 and RM2.05 per litre from Aug 22 to 28.
The Finance Ministry in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 21) said that due to the recent decline of global crude oil prices, the government had agreed to reduce the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by 2sen per litre to RM3.23 per litre.
It added that the retail price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan remained unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.
It said the prices were fixed based on the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.
"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," read the statement.
