THE Maran Sri Marathandavar Temple chairman confirmed that a burglary targeting official documents at the temple had occurred, Makkal Osai reported.

Raman was appointed acting president by the court on July 19 following committee elections which were disputed by the previous committee.

His team forcefully unlocked the temple office on Aug 1 after obtaining police permission and found out that many documents, including the member registry, had gone missing, while the CCTV cameras had been disabled.

After the court finally confirmed Raman as the president, the team sent the CCTV equipment for data recovery and it showed that five men had broken into the temple office on July 19 and took away documents.

Raman confirmed that his lawyer had filed a police report about the break-in and submitted the recovered recording as evidence.
