Temple gives away books to schools


THE Sri Muniswarar Temple in Perai, Penang, presented 1,000 workbooks to Tamil schools in Penang, Makkal Osai reported.

The well-known temple located in Jalan Baru conducted a book donation programme for Tamil school pupils for the 11th year during a special event hosted at the temple hall.

Perai assemblyman and state exco member Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu helped distribute the books to the headmasters, PTA heads and board chairmen of the 28 schools in Penang.

State education department assistant director for Tamil schools A. Saktiveloo was also in attendance.

Temple chairman M. Segaran and temple education committee head K. Rajamanikam spoke about the work carried out by the temple.

Sundarajoo thanked the temple committee for their efforts to help the community.
