A TEENAGE gang member in Johor Baru is terrorising his schoolmates by forcing them to pay protection money and coercing them into joining his organisation, reported China Press.

The 17-year-old, who is studying at a school in Bandar Seri Alam, reportedly has an older brother who is one of the leaders of a local gang.

According to a parent known only as Huang, the teenager would force younger schoolmates to cough up RM253 each as protection money.

A check on the teenager’s social media showed photos of him holding a flag spotting what is believed to be his gang’s insignia. Several of his Instagram photos also showed him and his friends displaying what is thought to be their gang hand sign.

In a post on Facebook, Huang warned other parents about their children becoming victims of gang violence.

The daily contacted the police and teachers at the school, but has yet to receive a reply.

> Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau was praised for stopping an altercation at his concert in China recently, reported China Press.

During the middle of the concert in Hangzhou city, a fan left his seat in excitement but was stopped by a security guard. The guard’s actions upset the fan, leading to a scuffle.

Realising a fight was happening below stage, Lau called for calm.

“Coming to watch a concert should be a fun experience. That is why you should find a seat and sit still,” he said, adding that the security guard was just doing his job.

Lau later dedicated a song called Is It Possible? to the fan.
