KUALA LUMPUR: Umno’s official flag, "Sang Saka Bangsa," was hoisted to mark the opening of the party’s general assembly on Friday (Aug 23).

The ceremony began with the three Umno wings—Youth, Wanita, and Puteri—raising their respective flags.

The event was witnessed by party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and other party leaders.

Dressed in a red baju Melayu, Ahmad Zahid later raised the Umno flag, accompanied by the party’s official song "Bersatu, Bersetia, Berkhidmat."

He was joined by deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

Delegates from the party’s three wings were also in attendance.

Ahmad Zahid will deliver his presidential address later, followed by debates from delegates.

Umno’s Youth, Wanita, and Puteri Wings held their annual meetings on Thursday (Aug 22) with the general assembly scheduled to end on Saturday (Aug 24).
