Six-year-old girl rescued after near-drowning incident at Taman Tasik Kluang


KLUANG: A six-year-old girl almost drowned after swimming at Taman Tasik Kluang, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the police were notified about the incident at 10.45am on Saturday (Aug 24).

“We then received a call from the medical officer at the emergency ward of the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital.

“The child was rescued by the public and has been brought to the hospital for treatment.

“The victim is currently in a stable condition,” he said in a statement here on Saturday.

ACP Bahrin added that members of the public are urged not to create any speculation on the case, and those with information on the case are encouraged to call the IPD Kluang Hotline at 07-7766822.

Earlier, a 19-second video was posted on the ‘Kluang Hari Ini’ Facebook page. It showed a child flailing her arms inside a lake while other members of the public tried to rescue her using a stick.
