KUALA LUMPUR: Special equipment from the Malaysia Nuclear Agency was seen at the sinkhole site in Masjid India on Tuesday (Aug 27).

A special radar was brought in by the agency and it is believed to be a ground-penetrating device that was being used to help in search operations.

The search for Vijayalaksmi, 48, a tourist from India, has now entered its fifth day.

She fell into the 8m-deep sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India after the ground gave way when she was walking to a nearby temple at 8.22am on Friday (Aug 23).

Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), in a statement today, said that “jetting” works to destroy debris was conducted until 6.30am today.

“However, checks using a push rod and crawler camera at manholes in front of Wisma Yakin have come back negative.

“The SAR team will continue works at the end point at the Pantai Dalam plant by continuing flushing works and physical examinations at areas where the victim might have been trapped,” it said.
