Man found dead after falling from Sandakan building

KOTA KINABALU: A man was found dead after apparently falling from the seventh floor of a shopping mall in Sandakan early Tuesday (Aug 27).

A witness who was in his parked vehicle outside the building heard a loud "thump" beside his car at around 3.40am, and saw the victim lying next to his car when he went out to check.

Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Fuad Abd Malek said the witness alerted the cops and the victim has been identified as a 46-year-old local.

ACP Fuad added that when police arrived at the scene, they found no signs of foul play.

The body was later taken to the Duchess of Kent Hospital Sandakan for post mortem and the case is being investigated under a sudden death report, he said.
