Trio nabbed over alleged assault of supervisor in Ampang

AMPANG: Three men were detained for allegedly assaulting a 28-year-old supervisor at a workers' hostel in Taman Ampang Utama.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a company director lodged a police report at 11.16pm on Saturday (Aug 24), that one of his workers was beaten up until he was unconscious at the workers' hostel.

"The victim was sent to Ampang Hospital for treatment," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 27).

Investigations led police to arrest a 21-year-old man in Bandar Bukit Puchong as well as two other men aged 26 and 16, at Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong, on Sunday (Aug 25), he said.

"All suspects have prior criminal records and tested positive for drugs.

"They have been remanded for further investigation," he said.

ACP Mohd Azam said the incident occurred as the first suspect (aged 21), was angry that the victim constantly reprimanded him for disciplinary infringements.

"The victim also reported a missing cabinet at the workers' hostel.

"We are investigating under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing harm with a weapon," he said.
