What did you do to my niece? Relatives confront accused in murder case


SELAYANG: There was drama at the scene of the Magistrate's Court here where a couple was charged with the murder of the wife's eldest child, reported Sinar Harian.

As the couple was being led into the courthouse on Tuesday (Aug 27), somebody in the crowd, believed to be a relative of the victim, shouted: "Allahuakbar, what did you do to my niece?"

Security guard Mohamad Zulhelmy Amirrudin, 29, and housewife Norfazira Radzi, 30, were later charged in the Magistrate's Court with the murder of Nur Anissa Afiera Muhamad Zulhafize, eight, at an apartment in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang here between 11.51am and 3.51pm on Aug 17.

Mohamad Zulhelmy is Nur Anissa's stepfather.

The situation was tense as many in the crowd continued to bombard the couple with questions before the authorities put a stop to this.

The victim's relatives also chanted "justice for Nur Anissa", during which Norfazira Radzi was seen crying.

The couple were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment for a term between 30 to 40 years.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nor Izariah Zainal while the couple was not represented.
