Fuziah appointed Pahang PH chairman

KUANTAN: Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Fuziah Salleh has been appointed as Pahang Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, succeeding Datuk Seri Amirudin Saari, effective Aug 26.

Fuziah, who is also Pahang PKR chairman, said the appointment was made at the state Pakatan meeting last Monday.

She expressed her appreciation to Amirudin, who is also Selangor Mentri Besar, for his commitment and efforts in forming the Pahang Unity Government with Barisan Nasional (BN).

"The meeting also agreed to support the mutual understanding that has been signed and will continue to strengthen the Unity Government in Pahang in line with the principles of unity and cooperation in power-sharing.

"Indeed, the formation of the present Pahang government is a result of the seats won by PH in the 15th General Election (GE15)," she said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 28).

She said the meeting also felt that Pakatan should be given an appropriate role and recognition in line with the Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of the Pahang Unity Government.

The meeting also decided that more Pakatan supporters should be involved in the grassroots structure of the Pahang Unity Government to strengthen cooperation, especially in preparation for GE16. - Bernama
