Driver faces summons for driving against traffic in Johor Baru


JOHOR BARU: A male driver was slapped with summons for driving against the traffic at Jalan Langkasuka, Larkin near here on Saturday (Aug 24).

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the summons was issued against the offender, a local male in his 50s, on Friday (Aug 30) at 7.19am.

“We managed to track him down on Aug 30 at 4.20am,’’ he said in a statement.

ACP Raub said the driver had committed an offence under the Road Transport Act 1987 for failing to obey traffic regulations, including overtaking on double lines.

He said the initial investigation found the incident took place on Aug 24, at 11.46 pm, involving a grey sedan driven against the traffic by the man.
