Umno: Mahkota candidate being finalised

KLUANG: Barisan Nasional is in the final stages of determining its candidate for the Mahkota by-election, says Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

“We will announce (the candidate) when we launch the election machinery.

“We are now in the final stages and it will be decided soon,” he said when asked about preparations for the Mahkota by-election.

During the Umno general assembly on Thursday, the party’s Youth and Wanita wings had asked to be given a chance to contest in the by-election.
