Eight held in blitz on drug-laced vape liquid

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested eight people and seized hundreds of bottles of drug-laced vape liquid in a series of raids in the Klang Valley recently.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Khaw Kok Chin said in the first raid, a 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were detained at a condominium in Jalan Lingkaran Tengah 2 in the operation dubbed Ops Newfoundland.

“A suspect led the police to another condominium within the same area where three more suspects aged between 21 and 31 were arrested.

“The raid saw the seizure of 127 bottles of suspected MDMA liquid (5,570ml), 1.18g of suspected Erimin 5 pills, and two plastic packets of suspected ketamine weighing 2.7g in the living room of the unit,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Follow-up raids in Kampung Baru and Shah Alam led to the arrest of three other suspects aged between 23 and 32.

An additional 372 bottles of suspected MDMA (2,707ml) were seized in the raid in Shah Alam.

Also seized were tools used to process the drug-laced vape liquid worth RM125,674.

“The group’s modus operandi included using private residences to process and store vape liquid before distributing it to the local market using courier services.

“The NCID will continue investigations to trace the remaining members of the syndicate,” added Comm Khaw.
