THE hospital has become a second home of sorts for a seven-month-old boy who has been diagnosed with six chronic diseases, Harian Metro reported.
His father Mohamad Hafiz Azizan, 27, said the boy suffers from illnesses related to the kidneys, lung and a perforated heart.
“He needs to wear a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) breathing aid which we rent for RM400 a month,” he said.
Whenever the baby has to be warded at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar, he would take turns with his wife to look after him.
The couple also have a three-year-old son.
Mohamad Hafiz, who earns RM60 in daily wages as a worker at a wholesale shop, said he was fortunate that his employer had been understanding about his situation.
His landlord was also kind to him as there were occasions when he could not pay his RM350 monthly rent, he said.
Since his plight was published in the news, Mohamad Hafiz said he was grateful that public donations had come up to about RM3,000.
“I use it to buy a special milk formula for the baby. The rest of the money will go towards the cost of treatment and other necessities,” he said.
> Actress Rita Rudaini was upset that her son’s triumph at an athletics championship had apparently been attributed to her former husband who was a footballer, Kosmo! reported.
The 15-year-old boy, who is her eldest child, had smashed several records at the district championship.
According to news report, Rita was angry that a portal had described the footballer as a “legend”.
“Who is that legend? What does that have to do with the son whom I raised?” the 48-year-old mother posted on Instagram Story.
She spoke of caring for the boy since he was young and that it riled her that news headlines talked about “the son of a football legend”.
