TWO burglars who broke into a house ended up calling the police for help after a mob formed outside to beat them up, Makkal Osai reported.

The men, identified later as Indraraj and Sajjan Kumar, had intruded into a house in Bikaner city, India, when the owner was out visiting his brother nearby.

When the house owner, Madan Pareek, returned home and noticed that a lock was broken, he quickly locked the door from the outside. Madan then informed his neighbours, who promptly surrounded the house.

The burglars tried to break some windows to escape, but soon realised there was no way out and decided to call the police.

Both men surrendered after the police arrived and avoided being attacked by the group.

> The daily also reported that the Tamil Writers Association of Malaysia has requested the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to include books by local Tamil authors in its libraries.

The Kuala Lumpur Library, which is operated by DBKL, has no Tamil books, said association president Moganan Perumal.
