ANN editors gather for 25th anniversary summit

PETALING JAYA: Editors of leading media houses in Asia have gathered in town for the Asia News Network (ANN) 25th anniversary summit.

ANN is an alliance of 20 news outlets that aims to promote coverage of regional affairs through the sharing of content among participating outlets.

Apart from Malaysia, the other outlets are from Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

Yesterday, they gathered for a welcome dinner at a restaurant here before the start of the two-day board meeting and forum.

Star Media Group (SMG) Bhd was represented by its group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt and chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng.

Also present was Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, the Bernama chairman and SMG adviser.

Apart from SMG, the other Malaysian media which is part of ANN is Sin Chew Daily, which co-organised the event and annual general meeting with SMG.
