Estate worker missing after suspected croc attack in Kinabatangan

KOTA KINABALU: A 25-year-old estate worker is feared to have been attacked by a crocodile in Kinabatangan district.

Brono Kamil Nahak was said to have gone to the river at around 12.30pm on Thursday (Sept 4) at the Tong Hup estate to collect his catch from the nets placed there, prior to the incident.

However, he did not return home, which prompted his friends to go out to search for him but they only found his T-shirt, cap, shoes, motorcycle and a torn up net at the site.

Fire and Rescue Department officials said the estate workers alerted them for help due to concern that a crocodile might have attacked the victim.

A search has been mounted and the operation continues today.
