Security guard claims trial to molest, sexual assault of daughters


ALOR GAJAH: A 39-year-old security guard claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to nine sexual assault charges involving his two daughters.

The accused pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him before Judge Syazana Abd Lajis on Thursday (Sept 5).

Based on the statement of facts, the accused had allegeldy committed incest on his daughters aged 13 and 16 on two separate occasions.

If found guilty of the offences under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, he faces a maximum 30-year jail term and at least 10 strokes of the cane upon conviction.

He is also accused of committing seven counts of sexual assault on the same girls when they were 12 and 16.

All the offences were allegedly committed at the accused's home in Kampung Panchor, Durian Tunggal here between Nov 2018 and Aug 2024.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhamad Ehsan Nasaruddin prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.

The court later set the bail at RM108,000 for all the nine charges with one surety and fixed Oct 9 as the next mention date.

The accused was unable to raise the bail money at press time.
