Father of Barisan Mahkota candidate in induced coma

KLUANG: Just hours after being announced as Barisan Nasional's candidate for the Mahkota by-election, Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah was hit with devastating news about his father's health.

In a statement on Facebook, the Kluang Umno division youth chief said that his father has been placed in an induced coma.

"I kindly ask all my friends to pray for my father, Syed Abdullah, to be given strength, as the doctors have recommended for him to be placed in an induced coma.

"There is nothing more I can ask for other than the prayers of all my friends," he said in a statement on his Facebook on Sunday (Sept 8).

On Saturday (Sept 8), Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced that Syed Hussien is set to be Barisan's candidate for the Mahkota by-election.

Syed Hussien, 40, has been in Umno for over 20 years and is also a councilor for the Kluang Municipal Council.
