Negri top cop rubbishes graft allegations

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff has refuted allegations of his involvement in corrupt practices.

He was asked if it was true that one of his special officers had been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The MACC also supposedly seized RM4mil from the officer.

"Fake news. There are a lot of other fake stories on social media.

"This is not the only one," he said in a brief reply on Tuesday (Sept 10).

Earlier, a portal had claimed that the officer was arrested with RM4mil on Monday (Sept 9).

It also said that there was a possibility that DCP Ahmad Dzaffir and several district police chiefs in the state would be arrested for allegedly being involved in corrupt practices.

When contacted, a state MACC official said it could not verify the claim.

"As of now, the state director is not able to verify if there were any arrests (as stated in the report).

"The state MACC also has no information if there were any arrests made by officers from our headquarters or other offices," he added.
