PETALING JAYA: Allegations of any sexual assault or sodomy within our premises are false, says Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB).
GISB deputy director of administration Mokhtar Tajudin, speaking to Malay language portal mStar, strongly denied the allegations following large-scale raids at charity homes allegedly linked to GISB.
"The liwat (sodomy) claims are completely false. We are an Islamic organisation, of course there will not be any such (sexual) actions," he said.
He also denied that the children within the charity homes were abandoned and abused.
"What is unclear here is whether those homes are being operated by GISB or not. This is because there were premises that were raided which were business premises...but only under the guidance of GISB.
"GISB strongly cares about the welfare of its staff. We even provide vaccines," he said.
Mokhtar added that the company is currently seeking legal advice over the matter, and that the police have not contacted any of its higher management.
"Seeing as it has entered the investigation process, we are in the midst of obtaining legal advice. For now, the police have not approached or called any of the company's higher management.
"Of course, we will cooperate with the police. We are also in the midst of organising a 'comprehensive' press conference in the near future to answer these allegations. We will not be silent," Mokhtar told mStar.
On Wednesday (Sept 11), hundreds of children were rescued in a large-scale operation in two states.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the rescue was part of Ops Global.
The raids were conducted at 20 care homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan.
A total of 402 children, comprising 201 boys and 201 girls, aged between one and 17, were rescued.
Razarudin said 171 suspects, aged between 17 and 64, were arrested, including a teacher and dorm caretakers.
He added that all 171 had been remanded for seven days.
