Teen killed by falling tree on way home from work


ALOR GAJAH: A teenage motorcyclist was killed after being crushed by a falling tree while riding his motorcycle along Jalan Perindustrian Kelemak here.

Alor Gajah OCPD identified the victim as 18-year-old Ikhmal Hakimi Hasrul Rizuan, who died on the spot due to a severe head injury in the 6.30am incident on Thursday (Sept 12).

He said the victim was riding his motorcycle from Alor Gajah to his home in Taman Lendu Bakti Masjid Tanah here when he was crushed by the tree.

"The impact also caused the victim to flung 30m from the site where the tree fell," he said.

Supt Ashari said that the victim was on his way home after finishing his night shift at a factory here.

He added the victim's body has been sent to the Alor Gajah Hospital for an autopsy to be conducted and the incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
