To win elections, our household must be at peace, Zahid tells BN components

SHAH ALAM: The Barisan Nasional "household" must be at peace to win elections, Datuk Seri Ahmad Dr Zahid Hamidi has told his coalition partners.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Barisan chairman said the component parties must work on themselves and their ties.

“We have to fix our household issues... so that we can be strong again and win elections,” he said in his speech at the MIC annual general meeting here on Sunday (Sept 15).

"This is the winning formula."

He said while it is important to reflect on the past, Barisan must also look ahead.

It was able to win the Nenggiri by-election in Kelantan with a convincing majority because of its new formula.

He said there is no compromise when it comes to unity among Barisan component parties, and Barisan has to continue this momentum into the 16th General Election.

He said Nenggiri showed voters are now turning to Barisan because of its experience helming the government.

“Like the MIC president (Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran) said, our future does not depend on others. Our future depends on us.

“Let's form our internal strength. If we come together in Barisan, we will get there,” he added.
