PUTRAJAYA: Former followers of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) will be called up in the near future to assist a special committee in completing a report related to the company, which has been accused of propagating deviant teachings, says Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.
The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) said these former followers will provide information to the special committee established to conduct a thorough investigation and study of GISB's doctrines.
"Soon, we will call these former members of GISB to gather accurate information.
"The special committee under my jurisdiction will complete and finalise the study related to GISB Holdings," he told reporters after attending the National Level Maulidur Rasul 2024/1446H celebration here on Monday (Sept 16).
Mohd Na’im said the report will be brought to the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI) to be discussed in order to determine the status of GISB's doctrines.
"Whether GISB's teachings are deviant or not, we will bring this to MKI for discussion," he said.

Regarding the fate of women and children rescued by the police in several Op Global operations at various charity homes linked to GISB, he said the government will ensure their welfare, education, and future direction are safeguarded.
To this end, he said continuous cooperation will be provided to the police and the Social Welfare Department.
"This is our priority for them, and I believe the Social Welfare Department under Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri (Women, Family and Community Development Minister) will look into how we can ensure their welfare is protected," he said.
