KUALA LUMPUR: Muslims across the country celebrated Maulidur Rasul 2024/1446H on Monday (Sept 16) with various meaningful programmes and colourful processions by numerous contingents from all walks of life to show love for Prophet Muhammad SAW.
In PUTRAJAYA, the national-level celebration themed "Al-Falah Pemacu Malaysia Madani", was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, and graced by the presence of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysiam and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia.
The event was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and approximately 6,000 people.
In JOHOR, Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail led the state-level Maulidur Rasul procession in Kota Tinggi, accompanied by Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and State Islamic religious committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid.
Over 8,000 Muslims from 50 contingents from the public and private sectors, as well as non-governmental organisations and local communities, joined in the 1.3km procession which began at 7.30am from Padang Awam Bukit Kerajaan Kota Tinggi to Masjid Bandar Kota Tinggi.
In SELANGOR, the state-level celebration at the Dewan Syarahan dan Muzakarah Islam of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque here began when the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah arrived at 10am, accompanied by Mentri Besar Selangor Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
The event, attended by about 600 people, was filled with prayers and selawat (chants of praise for Prophet Muhammad) led by the mosque’s Marhaban group, as well as special Maulidur Rasul lecture by Ustaz Firdaus Subhi.
In PAHANG, Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah graced the state-level celebration held at the Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Kuantan.
Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed on arrival by Mentri Besar Dato’ Sri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and state executive councillors.
