Slow-moving traffic reported on several major routes


PETALING JAYA: Slow-moving traffic has been reported on several major highways in the Peninsula as of 12.30pm Monday (Sept 16).

PLUS Malaysia Bhd's @plustrafik X (formerly known as Twitter) account reported that as at 12.17pm Monday, there was slow moving traffic heading north from Senawang to Seremban on the North-South Expressway.

Northbound traffic was also slow on the stretch between Tangkak and Jasin in Melaka and between Sedenak and Simpang Renggam in Johor.

PLUS has also activated the "SmartLane" from KM259.6 to KM263.1, northbour from Port Dickson (U) to Seremban, allowing light vehicles to use the emergency lanes.

Meanwhile, traffic heading south from Sungai Petani (U) to Sungai Petani (S) was also slow-moving, while congestion was also reported southbound from Bukit tambun (S) to Bandar Cassia and from Gopeng to Tapah.

PLUS urged all highway users to drive carefully and follow any instructions and road signage.

ANIH Bhd, the concessionair for the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway and the East Coast Highway Phase 1 (LPT1), also reported slow-moving traffic.

It said that as at 1pm, there was slow-moving traffic before the Gombak toll plaza heading towards Kuantan.

Heading towards Kuala Lumpur, the concessionaire said there was congestion from the Bentong toll plaza to KM59.2 (Bentong-Lentang), from KM56 to KM54 (Lentang) and for about 800m before the Gombak toll plaza.
