Two Perak cops nabbed over alleged links to ketum factory

IPOH: Two policemen in Perak have been arrested for alleged links to a ketum processing facility operating out of a house in Tanjung Rambutan.

Perak police chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said that the duo, aged 41 and 39, were arrested under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Acts and under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act.

"Action will be taken against those involved, including those from the police. The first step we have taken is to suspend them from duty," he said after presenting certificates to retirees and future retirees of the state police contingent ceremony on Wednesday (Sept 18).

He said that the duo were arrested following a raid by Bukit Aman police on Sept 13 at 1.30am and will be remanded until Sept 19.
