Landslide hits area near Brinchang, Cameron Highlands


IPOH: A landslide has occurred at Brinchang in Cameron Highlands.

Cameron Highlands OCPD Deputy Supt Azri Ramli however said no casualties have been reported.

Several photos and videos online show that trees have been uprooted on the road near the Agro Market.

Meanwhile, Tanah Rata assemblyman Ho Chi Yang said in a post on his Facebook page that the landslide occurred at Jalan Besar Brinchang-Kea Farm at about 11am.

He said a vehicle parked at the roadside was damaged after a pole fell on it.

Ho thanked the Cameron Highlands District and Land office, the Fire and Rescue Department, police and other authorities for their swift action to ensure the safety of residents and tourists.
