Malaysian poet honoured at Tamil Nadu event


LOCAL Tamil poet Arul Arumugam Kannan was honoured during the centennial celebration of ex-Tamil Nadu chief minister Kalaignar Karunanithi’s birthday, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The International Association of Tamil Research conferred the Mutthamizhar Kalignar Award on Arul Arumugam for his contributions to the Tamil literary scene.

The event in Chennai, India, also saw the launch of a new book of Karunanithi’s writings.
