Bukit Aman investigating threats against Perlis Mufti


KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman is investigating threats made against Perlis Mufti, Datuk Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain revealed that Asri received threatening WhatsApp messages from an unknown number at around 8:56 am on Saturday (Sept 21).

According to Asri, the four messages were linked to GISB.

"He (Asri) claimed he received four messages linked to GISB.

"The messages claimed that the company’s businesses could not be competed with," he told a press conference at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) on Monday (Sept 23).

Upon responding, Asri received further messages that included threats and provocations.

The matter is currently under investigation.
