It's not a sinkhole, just a burst pipe, says City Hall of viral video

PETALING JAYA: A video has surfaced showing subsidence at what appeared to be a slip road near Jalan Sultan Ismail heading towards Jalan Raja Chulan in Kuala Lumpur.

The clip lasting 10 seconds showed water runoff filling up to what appeared to be a pothole on the road.

The spot was closed off with a traffic cone and yellow tape, while a Fire and Rescue Department personnel was also seen on site.

The video was posted on online forum Reddit on Monday (Sept 23) but it was unclear what was the cause of the closure.

When contacted, a Kuala Lumpur City Hall spokesperson said the incident was caused by a burst pipe.

"An Air Selangor burst pipe. Please refer to Air Selangor for further enquiries," he said.
