Soldier accidentally killed by hunter in Sarawak, say cops


SIBU: A soldier has been accidentally killed by a hunter in the Song district on Monday (Sept 23).

Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said the victim was training in a forested area near Batu 5, Jalan Balak Multiplus, Song, when the mishap occurred.

Police received a report on the incident at 5.57am.

"The complainant said that the soldier was shot by a civilian who was hunting in the area," he said.

The victim was rushed to Kapit Hospital and pronounced dead at 7.43am.

The case is still under investigation.
