Hartal Doktor Kontrak: Expansion of Full Paying Patient services essential but safeguards required

PETALING JAYA: The expansion of the Full Paying Patient services in government hospitals under the Rakan MOH programme is essential for keeping the public healthcare system alive and well, says Hartal Doktor Kontrak.

In a statement on Facebook on Tuesday (Sept 24), the group supported the move by the Health Ministry and said that it would help retain specialists in government hospitals and improve access to specialist treatment for Malaysians at a lower cost.

However, it also urged the ministry to implement robust safeguards to prevent abuse and ensure the programme does not negatively impact the quality and accessibility of public healthcare.

Below is their full statement.
