PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong is attending the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo at the Hangzhou International Expo Center in China.

The expo that began Wednesday (Sept 25) is organised by the Zhejiang Hangzhou Municipal Government and the China International Trade Association.

"I am attending the opening ceremony alongside Melaka Chief Minister's investment advisor and Klebang state assemblyman, Datuk Wira Lim Ban Hong.

"This year's expo has garnered significant attention from the Chinese government, particularly the Zhejiang provincial government and has drawn global focus," said Dr Wee on Facebook on Wednesday (Sept 25).

He said the four-day expo features leading enterprises from 32 countries and regions, focusing on innovation and showcasing cutting edge applications in digital trade, including artificial intelligence, smart robotics and low altitude economy.

Low-altitude economy refers to an economic model primarily driven by low-altitude aviation such as unmanned aircraft.

"I will also deliver a keynote address at the International Cooperation Forum on Digital Economy at the expo," added Dr Wee.

Among others at the event were China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and representatives from the United Nations and World Trade Organisation.
